Progetto Artena - Artena (Rome)
www.progettoartena.com - 2012-2016
A five years participative strategic design project for the revival of the historical centre of Artena (Rome) started by the ISB. At the same time it is a research that aims to prototype a model of development process for similar historical towns.
After more than 80 initiatives, during the third year of the project we had a breakthrough event, also the most relevant result so far: a Neighbourhood Committee (“Comitato Centro Storico Artena”) arose spontaneously by a proposal of few citizens. Now, the Committee promotes projects and initiatives in order to improve the quality of life of the residents of the Artena’s historic centre. For example: social events, recovery of neglected areas, restoring of buildings, a mediation role between citizens and the Municipality, promotion of local products, fundraising for initiatives. Today, the Committee involves around 250 among residents and supporters of which roughly 40 are highly active, and they carries on an increasing number of initiatives catalysing different players such as local business owner, makers, professionals, the Municipality, food producers, schools, associations, and many others.

Segni SEED - Segni (Rome)
Segni (RM) - 2013
Segni Seed has been a 7 days explorative laboratory of service design, aimed at mapping the strategic situation of the Italian city of Segni, and especially: development potentialities, internal conflicts, and the causes of the lack of communication between people and the city administration. Via intensive use of design thinking tools (interviews, brainstorming, visual communication), a mass of data has been collected, that self-clustered in meaningful patterns. These allowed in turn to prototype and suggest possible development solutions for unfolding Segni’s economics and society. The output has been then presented to the people and the administration, as a sound basis for action.
